ABOUT ME

Growing up

I grew up surrounded by the arts, but my passion for film was sparked at the age of six during a visit to Universal Studios. From that moment, I was hooked and spent my youth making short films with my twin brother. Our countless projects—often ending in dramatic explosions—ignited my love for storytelling and revealed the importance of pairing technical skills with strong narrative development.

In my arts-focused high school, I honed my craft, earning awards and scholarships at statewide film festivals. My academic journey took me from Ellensburg, Washington, to London, England, and finally to Boston, Massachusetts, where I completed a Bachelor’s in Film Directing at Emerson College. There, I gained experience producing larger projects and leading creative teams.

Now based in New York City, I continue to collaborate with fellow film professionals.

ALTER

"Schwartz is achieving things that a lot of young horror fans, myself included, have long dreamed of. His ability to read the moments where the audience will expect something and then completely subvert that expectation is brilliant"
